The aim of construction site certification is to minimize the impact on the environment and the consumption of resources during construction and at the same time to protect the health of all those involved in construction.
In addition, the social acceptance of the construction site – and at the same time of the building – through comprehensive communication measures with the neighbourhood.
The certification system is used as a planning and management tool to establish sustainable standards on construction sites with regard to the quality of construction processes and execution. The award is granted for the duration of construction, for which continuous and comprehensive documentation of the measures must be carried out in preparation for and during construction. The assessment of the construction site covers the areas of construction site organization, resource protection, health and social issues, communication with the local population and quality of the construction work, from which additional measures must be taken in addition to meeting the minimum requirements in order to achieve the certificate. As a benefit, the measures implemented and documented as part of the “DGNB – Sustainable Building Site” construction site certification can also be used for building certification.
